Children & Young People Counselling
Growing up can bring all kinds of pressures and emotions. Anxiety, school stress, friendships, family changes, low confidence and difficult feelings can sometimes become overwhelming.
Counselling can give children and young people a calm, confidential space to express themselves, make sense of what they’re experiencing and feel genuinely heard.
I hold a Level 5 qualification in working with children and young people, and I tailor sessions to the age, needs and personality of each young person.

What I can support children & young people with
Anxiety & worry
Support when worries, fears or anxious thoughts begin to feel overwhelming.
School pressures
A space to talk about school stress, exams, attendance or feeling under pressure.
Confidence & self-esteem
Helping young people understand themselves, recognise their strengths and build confidence.
Friendships & relationships
Support with friendship difficulties, feeling left out, conflict or changing relationships.
Family changes
A safe space to explore separation, changes at home, loss or other family difficulties.

Big emotions
Helping children and young people understand and express feelings that
can sometimes feel difficult to manage.

For parents & carers
Supporting a child or young person who is struggling can feel worrying, especially when you’re not sure what will help.
Before counselling begins, we can have a conversation about what’s been happening, what support may be helpful and any questions you have about the process.
I aim to help parents and carers feel informed and reassured, while also respecting the young person’s privacy and creating a space where they can feel safe to talk openly.
Where appropriate, we can review how things are going together, always keeping the young person’s wellbeing and safeguarding needs at the centre of the work.
What sessions are like

A safe place to talk
Sessions are calm, confidential and shaped around the young person.

At their own pace
There’s no pressure to talk about anything before they feel ready.

Ways to express themselves
Depending on age and preference, sessions may include talking, creative activities or other gentle ways to explore feelings.
